Additional & Related Resources
This is for miscellaneous materials, related links, references,
bibliographies, et cetera. [I have nothing close to big plans for what will
actually be dumped in this section. It could be anything.] I'm making sure to
try and add some notation for links to sites that might be subscription sites.
I'm adding this little money icon next to those links.
Frequently Visited
Some sites I use all of the time for genealogy and I'll add them here. What sites do you use most often?
- Google Picasa Web: Almost every photograph that I've scanned so far [recently for sure] is posted online at my Google Photos page. It's pretty easy to navigate too and you should check there for additional images too. It's totally free and makes a nice alternative to Photobucket or whatever.
- My Ancestry.com page is a good one for a better family tree display as well as plenty of references and sources.
McHenry Surname Information
The McHenry surname has always been one that I've felt good about sharing and I'm really glad to have McHenry as a last name. I have always taken some degree of pride in my name and I've been working at family genealogy for a long time now. [A fairly long time with varying degrees of success.] I'm not positive what anything means anymore but I'll post it all the same. [See the McHENRY SURNAME page.]
Some Links to Other Sites & Sections
- Some interesting McHenry related facts and statistics are at ancestry.com
- Some Lizzie Borden McHenry's
- PBS Ancestors Site: Just great.
- The Modesto McHenry Mansion site is interesting too.
- A really great bio-site for James McHenry at americanrevolution.com
- HLC: Harrison Lejeune Cunningham [My Grandfather.]
Resource Sites
Some of the sites that I have found useful in my own research are listed
here. Sites with the
icon are some that may require a paid membership to access all of the material.
- Find A Grave: I was always under the impression this site was just about graves of famous people. It's not. It is a pretty nice site for genealogy research and I wish I'd have signed on sooner. It's completely free too.
Subscription-Based Sites & Software
These are resources that ultimately will hit you up for money. I did get a great deal of information from the free areas and eventually I did just sign on for a month. [Which has turned into two.] But you can certainly not subscribe or pay anything and still find some good things. I'm just making it clear because affiliate linking really does suck. I'm linking these few sites on purpose and do think they are worth it.
-
